Type Locality and Naming

Shan South Plateau, The Late Cambrian rocks exposed in the northern and central parts of the Pindaya range were classified by Myint Lwin Thein (IGCP 1977) who named them the Molohein Group after Molohein Peak (2221 m) in Lawksawk township (Myint Lwin Thein 1973), a group which he later informally subdivided into the Pandung Fm and the succeeding Myetye Fm. Sandstone. Predominantly arenaceous and argillaceous strata with subordinate calcareous sediments
